When I was a tweenager, my mom made me write thank you cards to relatives for gifts received. I hated doing it, but it instilled in me the importance of expressing gratitude for the things people do for you, not just taking it for granted. I think that was her point, so I hope she reads this post today. Good work, Mom! Thanks!
Obviously, that meant I had some thank you cards to write after Christmas! I started these three cards by playing around with a leftover strip of Soft Sky that was laying on my cutting table. Stamping images all over a sheet of cardstock and then cutting it up to create a background paper is a fun exercise.
Once I had this done, I had to choose the size card I wanted to put it on. I am a bit tired of the standard 4.25" x 5.5" card, so I went smaller. These cards are 2 7/8" by 5.5"--the perfect size for communicating thanks to someone who gave you something nice and unexpected.
After I'd stamped the strip and cut it, I realized I didn't have enough for all three cards, so the last card is a bit different than the other two, but I like the simplicity. The color combo, btw, is Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, and Wild Wasabi and the stamp set is Spiral Bouquet by Papertrey Ink.
A funny aside: we have a name change to a popular drink at Starbucks. The double chocolate chip frappuccino now must be called double chocolaty chip frappuccino. We baristas were all wondering what crazy marketing person pushed this silly new moniker through corporate, and were embarrassed at the thought of having to call that when ordered, but I did a little searching on the internal Starbucks website and found out there's a real reason for it. In order for something to be called "chocolate" it must contain cocoa powder AND cocoa butter or cocoa liquor. Our "chocolate" chips don't contain the latter ingredients, so technically we can't call the drink a chocolate chip frappuccino. Wonder if that applies to named cardstock? :-)
Have a great day, ya'll! If you didn't figure it out by looking at the picture in the last post, the date for the upcoming Jan. Stamp-A-Stack is Jan. 19. Let me know if you can make it by leaving a comment! Thanks for stopping by today!
